Fathoms O'Fun...Fathoms is one of the area's premier summer events which is nearing it's 37th year of providing fun and excitement to South Kitsap and our surrounding communities. In addition to the Port Orchard Grand Parade, the Carnival by the Bay and the annual July 4th fireworks spectacular, Fathoms is also involved in numerous other community events throughout the entire calendar year. The South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank...For more than two decades, the South Kitsap Helpline has been a critical resource for South Kitsap community members in need. Helpline's food bank provides food to more than 2000 children, adults and senior citizens in Port Orchard each month. The Helpline Thrift Store, also located at 1351 Bay Street, is one of this area's best kept secrets. This unique store is open to the shopping public. The South Kitsap Boys and Girls Club...To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Boys & Girls Clubs programs have taken members from the Clubhouse to the White House; from the games room to the corporate boardroom; from the high school orchestra to Carnegie Hall. Boys & Girls Clubs of America has a lineup of tested and proven nationally recognized programs that address today's most pressing youth issues, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life.
